When I first came into IT I had a professional with 30 years experience tell me don’t stay at any IT company more than 3-5 years. This company could be so much more than what it is. It’s probably about $350 per month for family but it’s excellent insurance. Stock options with 40% match, 401K 3% match, HSA with 1200 per year for family ( 600 if single), really good medical, dental and vision but, you pay for it. All this leaves one feeling a since of just existing, with no purpose. It’s as though they want to keep you where you are. Discouraging employees from learning other areas of business because THEY feel you wouldn’t be good at it, even when it’s on your own time and money. No opportunity for growth and advancement. You’re lucky to hear from them and when you do it’s like it’s just a check in the box. You are supposed to have weekly talks with manager and periodic assessments to see your goals.
Good luck building any rapport or finding a since of belonging. No support from management and no true employee evaluations to see where you are, what you are doing well and what you need to work on. There are NO pay raises only 1-3% yearly Cost of living increases. The pay is below average and that’s putting it nicely. One of the best benefits packages in the industry I’ve been with this company for several years.
